The photo spread traces the untamed and frequently misunderstood genius of the adolescent. The portraits of 14-year old teenagers reflect the ingeniousness of young people coming of age.
Today’s youth frequently faces difficulties living up their own abilities and characteristics. Peer pressure, brand hysteria, fear of the future and little room for creativity and proactive approaches rule growing up in our culture.
”Fourteen” is an age at which it is also difficult to cope with oneself. The body changes and frequently already dances to another tune while mind and soul are not yet there – the young people have come to an edge. Some of them will already have to choose a profession.
And yet it is also the time of unbridled hope and desire; the individual personality is to be recognized, something that comes from the future tries to make itself heard.
